Is SA240 S31803 Austenitic-Ferritic Duplex?

Yes, SA240 S31803 is classified as austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel. It combines both austenitic and ferritic microstructures, which provides a balance of strength and corrosion resistance. This grade is known for its good mechanical properties and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, making it suitable for various applications in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and marine environments.

If the material is S31803, duplex stainless steel if NOMINAL Thickness exceeds 10mm impact testing is required as per UG-84 .
